Crewelwork Panel depicting the Tree of Life, with richly coloured exotic flowers, animals and birds and Oriental buildings. English, early-18th Century.

Provenance :-  Parry-Crooke family, Darsham House, Suffolk. From second half 19th century until c. 1945 and thereafter in another family house until 1993.

98¾” x 46½”  (2,51m x 1,18m).

Similar animals and birds appear on curtains in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (Museum No. T172-1923) and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (Accession Number 08.186a).
